Wynonna Earp Season 4, Episode 8, ‘Hell Raisin’ Good Time’ Recap & Spoilers

Wynonna Earp Season 4 Episode 8 Updates: It’s Halloween in Purgatory once more, and Wynonna and Waverly Earp are up against a gigantic serial killer. Here’s a spoiler-filled summary of Episode 8, “Hell Raisin’ Good Time.”

In Wynonna Earp’s newest episode, “Hell Raisin’ Good Time,” the titular gunslinger awakens from her tossing with Amon to find employees at The Glory Hole planning for the night’s Halloween festivities. She soon leaves on her drunk walk of shame.

Halloween is always a particularly malevolent occasion in Purgatory, and this year is no exception, with a pumpkin-headed scarecrow reappearing and brutally murdering two Black Badge Division operatives.

As Wynonna and Waverly receive their information on the new supernatural threat from Jeremy Chetri, they discover that the culprit is Rotten Jack, the excuse Purgatory retains jack-o-lanterns.

Amon mocks Doc Holliday for hooking up with Wynonna the night before as he sees a tarot-lined roulette wheel forecast Rotten Jack’s next target. Doc notices that Wynonna eventually backstabs everyone who comes into contact with her, and he soon retires his job as Amon’s gun for hire.

Rotten Jack assaults a woman who misidentifies him as a technique after Doc crashes out of the nightclub. Wynonna and Waverly confront a paranoid figure on the edge of cities who turns out to be an extraction method capable of apprehending Rotten Jack before he strikes again.

The extractor responds by erasing the memories of both women. As they struggle with their amnesia, they return home and inadvertently swap names, thinking Waverly is a cop.

CBR

Waverly and Wynonna are researching Shorty’s to learn much about their lost identities when they find demons and vampires are real and Amon’s goons come to accost Doc. This drives them right into Amon’s arms, where he offers to amuse them with a Halloween party back at The Glory Hole, oblivious to his true demonic nature.

Amon imprisons both sisters and auctions them off in front of his demon audience for the privilege of executing one of them. Jeremy is the winning bidder, and he injects both sisters with a consciousness serum just as Doc and the extractor arrive with Peacemaker. Rotten Jack, on the other hand, joins the club with the intent of murdering Waverly due to her angelic parentage.

The extractor and Waverly are able to destroy Rotten Jack before he takes any more fatalities, and as Wynonna returns his pumpkin remains to the BBD, she discovers from Jeremy that the mind fog – the otherworldly substance that drives those immersed in it for an extended period of time insane – is spreading around the boundaries of Purgatory.

And, with another Halloween crisis averted, Doc eliminates another threat by liberating Amon’s demons and turning them against their master, as Purgatory loses its most ominous presence… for the time being.
