Outlander Season 7 Updates: The cast of Outlander has only just initiated the production of the sixth season of Starz’s hit series. However, the audience of the historical drama which is based on the admired novel series by Diana Gabaldon already has more appearing on their plate shortly as season 7 of Outlander has been renewed (via TVLine) with it being confirmed to include 12 episodes which will directly be linked to the novel called “An Echo in the Bone” by Gabaldon.
The season will presumably focus upon the events that Brianna “Bree” Mackenzie (Sophie Skelton) and her partner Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin) would come across further in the 20th century. It will also include Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) in the 18th century.
Back in May of 2018, the show was renewed for the production of season 6 and it ultimately commenced in February of 2021 in Scotland as Season 5 came to an end in 2020 itself. Unfortunately, the production was compelled to a halt due to COVID-19, and hence the restoration will be facing quite a few challenges.
The executive producer Mathew B. Roberts said that he was not sure how a COVID-friendly scene could be written. Notably, it wouldn’t be able to live to the standards of an Outlander scene because the show involves the actors being close to each other, being emotional – which would make it easy for the virus to transfer.
The scripts, hence, have been written how they were originally planned where the producer – Guy Tannahill, the new production designer – Mike Gunn and the staff, who have been active for a significant amount of time, have worked seamlessly to make it happen.
Mathew was also quick to mention the big event that Outlander hosts, annually. The extras filmed for the background would be added in the end altogether as he praised the visual effects team and is completely confident of their ability to get the job done.
Fortunately, with the news that Season 7 is sure to arrive, the fans will surely be eagerly waiting to proceed further with the story.
