That Time Paul Bettany Punched Tom Hanks So Hard That He Farted While Filming A Scene

Published by

Paul Bettany: All the things will be more exciting when filming a movie, especially when there is a fight sequence with massive elements. While these action scenes may not the very first things which will be in the minds of the audience when they think about The Da Vinci Code.

However, the movie still contains some crucial tensed portions, a number that involves the albino Catholic monk named paul Bettany’s Silas, who does the job of a teacher.

There is one particular sequence in which we can see Silas punch Tom Hanks’ Robert Langdon in the ground, Bettany caused Hanks to burp in the following process.

What Paul Bettany Has to say about the incident?

During the video, Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu paid a visit to Langdon’s pal, Sir Leigh Teabing, a Holy Grail specialist. During their stay, Silas bursts into the building and hits Langdon.

Paul Bettany recently remembered filming the Da Vinci Code scene and recalls that the set was extremely quiet at the time. With all of this, they were both ears as Tom Hanks let out a grunt due to Bettany’s punch:

“I had to catch him, and I had to hit him in the gut, and he’s really quiet on the stage. It’s much quieter when there’s a stunt going on and you’re afraid someone’s going to get injured. So everybody’s listening, and I hit him in the gut, and he’s very, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really loud.”

Needless to mention, Paul Bettany and Tom Hanks shared an unforgettable (and awkward) moment together. During his appearance at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, WandaVision’s star revealed that he was losing after he hit Hanks. He also showed the funny reaction of his co-star to his punch:

“I didn’t know what the shape was like. What do you do as the biggest movie star in the world is out? I was sort of looking at him. And he went, ‘What the fuck is wrong with you? You were just making me fart!”

In all honesty, that’s actually how most of us would react if we had just pooped loudly on the set after being struck by a co-star. Fortunately, Tom Hanks appears to have a strong sense of humor, as does Paul Bettany. Based on the tone of Bettany, it seems like Hanks wasn’t severely annoyed by the hit.

If something, Paul Bettany has a wonderful story that can be handed on to his kids, and so on and so on. Not many people would complain that they hit one of the best stars of our day and made him fat.

In short, Bettany is all their own in a class, and he seems to know that. If you want to try out his tussle with Tom Hanks, you can upload the Da Vinci Code to Netflix.
