Riverdale Season 5 Updates: After comments from Kiernan Shipka teased a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossover, RIVERDALE could be visited by a strong teenage witch in the not-too-distant future.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was canceled by Netflix in December 2020 after just four seasons. Despite this, series star Kiernan Shipka isn’t ruling out a return on HBO Max, and may even pop up in another Archie Comics adaptation, The CW’s Riverdale.
Following Netflix’s cancellation of Sabrina Spellman last year, Kiernan Shipka has announced that she is open to reprising her role as the teen witch. At the end of last year, Netflix’s grim reboot of the Archie Comics character came to a bittersweet conclusion after four seasons.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina seemed to come to a decisive end when Sabrina sacrificed herself to save the planet from a hideous Eldritch Terror known as the Void. Her tragic fate has evidently wrapped up the teenage witch’s time on television, as she now resides in the Sweet Hereafter with Nicholas Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood).

With Warner Bros. and HBO Max announcing plans to release a number of high-profile television shows and blockbusters in the coming year, fans have begun petitioning for a reboot of the Warner Television-produced fantasy series.
Sabrina isn’t the only Archie Comics-inspired TV show currently streaming on Netflix, with new episodes of Riverdale’s fifth season arriving every week. Sabrina herself, Kiernan Shipka, spoke with TV host Tommy Didario about her desire to return to the role at some stage in the future.
She thinks Sabrina could probably make it back if she wanted to,” she said. Despite the fact that the titular teen sorceress ostensibly breathed her last breath in Sabrina’s dramatic finale, both Shipka and the show’s devoted fans agree that she can still return to the land of the living.
The celebrity elaborated. She’s a brilliant young lady. I believe she will spend some time in the Sweet Hereafter before being lonely and missing her friends, so that’s a possibility.
Sabrina’s abilities have only become better over the course of the show’s four seasons, so there’s a good chance she’ll pull out one more death-defying trick.
Despite the fact that the fifth season on Netflix is impossible, Shipka admitted she’d like to visit Riverdale after her friends’ visit in season three proved the two shows shared a universe.
She went on to say, “She’s never been to Riverdale, and I really want to go, and I want to check it out, so that’s a possibility.” There are a lot of options, but I’m certainly open to seeing her again. However, the actress later admitted: “I have no idea how it will come to be,” she said honestly.
