The Rookie Season 3- Episode 3: Storyline Update & Much More

Published by

Story of The Rookie season 3, episode 3: Jackson West was sent to Stanton as a training officer, and during his call to the field, he saw various examples of bigotry. The climax came when Stanton took a family hostage at gunpoint in a case of profiling and mistaken identity. West understood the severity of the situation and resolved to do something about it.

The problem was that no one was willing to listen. Bradford initially brushed off Brandon Routh’s character’s conduct, saying that Stanton was merely “raw around the edges,” like other cops were. Meanwhile, Sergeant Grey refused to do anything more than being assigned to desk duty until matters were worked out.

What we saw in both Grey and West was a larger issue with the institution, one in which characters are unable to hear about challenges — or are just too jaded to notice them. We assume that both Grey and Bradford were aware that Doug was a bad man, but that there were numerous obstacles to overcome. Maybe they didn’t think it was likely to have Doug fired, but that doesn’t mean Jackson doesn’t want that to happen. In fairness, he’s adamant about not doing so.

(At the start of the show, Grey expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that he did what he had to in order to “survive,” but not enough to change the system). The Audience was more anticipating to watch this series with high expectations. Previous seasons were made an immense success so this season has created a curiosity to the audience about its success. This series will entertain the audience there is no doubt about this.

Kudos to Routh for taking on such a tough challenge and drawing attention to an awful issue in this country — this is frequently timely stuff because the Rookie is addressing it head-on.

In terms of what else we saw in the show, John and his mother had an important conversation about being on the same page as one another. They won’t have to think about putting on a show; instead, they’ll be themselves. The audience gets curious to watch this series with high expectations. For more information stay tuned.
