Red Sonja Movie Lands Tomb Raider Animated Series Showrunner

Red Sonja Updates: Tasha Huo will be writing a reboot Red Sonja project with Joey Soloway, as well as acting as showrunner for Netflix’s Tomb Raider animated series.

The remake of the Red Sonja movie landed a new blogger.

As per a source from The Hollywood Reporter, Tasha Huo will co-writer with producer Joey Soloway, as well as appearing on Netflix’s forthcoming Tomb Raider animated series. Huo has worked as a writer on Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin, a limited series set 1,200 years before the Witcher TV show.

 Red Sonja first premiered in the year 1973’s Conan the Barbarian #23 which was created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith and is lightly based on the role of Red Sonya from Robert E. Howard’s 1934 small story, named “ The Shadow of the Vulture.”

In the year 2013, Gail Simone made a decision to re-create the character of Red Sonja with some minor changes and her past story to much critical acclaim, showing Sonja being a warrior willing to avenge her family hunting down the marauders who murdered them.  Usually, this version of Sonja took to drinking and fighting to cope with the pain of her death.

Previously, the movie was translated to the 1985 Real Swords and Sorcery Film of the same name, featuring Brigitte Nielsen as the title character. The film won mixed reviews and crashed the box office, adding $6.9 million to the $17.9 million budget.

Bryan Singer came on the board to develop the remake for millennium Films in the month of September of 2018, but it was dumped in the middle of accusations of sexual harassment and replaced by Soloway in the month of June of 2018.

The movie was directed by joey Soloway, but there is no information about the release date of the movie.
