Mark Ruffalo Wants to Join ‘Mandalorian’ Franchise, Pedro Pascal Reacts

Published by

Mark Ruffalo: Disney bought Marvel Studios in 2009 and Lucasfilm from George Lucas in 2012, ensuring that both Bruce Banner/The Hulk who Ruffalo plays in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the bounty hunter Din Djarin who Pascal plays in The Mandalorian is both, legally speaking, Disney characters.

Earlier this week, the Golden Globe Awards nominees for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards were revealed, with both Ruffalo and Mandalo in contention.

Ruffalo has been nominated for Best Performance by Actor in the Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for the work he has done as Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in HBO’s I Know This Much Is True. He was the winner of Emmy for this part last year.

Showrunner Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni’s Emmy-winning Disney+ Mandalo season, on the other hand, are in the Best Television Series – Drama Against Lovecraft Nation, The Crown, Ozark, and Ratched. Both Ruffalo and Pascal are noted for their strong social media pages, and the pair took a banter on Twitter after their respective awards.

Ruffalo was unintentionally called in a Tweet to congratulate the Mandalo cast and the crew on their Golden Globe nomination. Ironically, Ruffalo made no secret of his wish to enter the Star Wars universe. He recently posted on social media that he would love to be part of the upcoming Star Wars movie by Marvel director and actor Taika Waititi, which is reportedly scheduled for release in 2025.

Inside the Magic

The fandoms still seem to think this is an excellent concept, with many Marvel fans and Star Wars fans responding to Ruffalo’s Tweet. None, of course, has been confirmed and the chances of Ruffalo being in the Star Wars franchise are certainly low, in reality—but it will be awesome to see Ruffalo and Chilean-born Pascal take Star Wars together someday.

A fan may have a fantasy. In addition, there are even rumors that Iron Man and Avengers star Robert Downey Jr. could be playing Grand Admiral Thrawn in Mandalo’s spinoff series, Ahsoka, alongside Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, but never tell about stars passing from one franchise to another.

What’s up next for Pascal and Mark Ruffalo?

Both stars are preparing for new Disney films in the immediate future. Now that his new project, Wonder Woman 1984, has been launched, Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal is scheduled to start shooting The Mandalorian Season 3 on April 5, 2021, in Los Angeles, probably using the Volume soundtrack that was made popular in Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian.
