What Does Doctor Strange 2 Have in Store for Stephen Strange’s WandaVision?

Published by

Doctor Strange 2 Updates: Doctor Strange’s struggles over the deaths of his allies may cause him to have a breakdown similar to the Scarlet Witch’s in WandaVision.

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Stephen Strange can get his own WandaVision experience. Since his debut in his self-titled film in 2016, Benedict Cumberbatch’s sorcerer has been a fixture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but fans haven’t seen him in action since Avengers: Endgame.

A film that was lauded as an earth-shattering conclusion for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, it had a profound impact on any character involved in the events, but it could be argued that no one felt more heartache than Doctor Strange. With that in mind, the events of Endgame could lead to an experience for Strange that is potentially similar to Disney+’s first-ever Marvel Studios series.

Stephen Strange was well aware that there was only one way for the MCU Avengers to beat Thanos out of 14,000,605 possible outcomes. As a result, in Avengers: Infinity War, he did what he claimed he would never do and lost the Time Stone to The Mad Titan, believing that it would eventually lead to their victory.

However, it also resulted in the loss of half of the universe’s existence for five years, as well as the apparent permanent deaths of Vision, Black Widow, and Tony Stark. And even a mystical being like him would not be able to do it.

Doctor Strange 2 Stephen Strange’s WandaVision?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see the future Sorcerer Supreme unleash an unspeakable evil while combating a new foe with personal ties to him, and his guilt over the deaths of his allies and friends in Endgame could play a role.

Strange didn’t like Tony Stark at first, but the two began to admire each other throughout and after their fights with Thanos, so it’s fair to assume that he feels some regret – or, to put it another way, shame – for playing a role in Tony’s inevitable demise, particularly because he couldn’t do anything to prevent it.

Since he’ll be researching the Time Stone in the sequel, maybe he’ll dig at the idea of undoing what happened to his teammates. This may be the clue that leads him to Scarlet Witch.

Wanda Maximoff will be reprised by Elizabeth Olsen in the Doctor Strange sequel, and Wanda is actually dealing with her own grief over Vision’s passing, which has seen her try to reverse the loss of her beloved Vision by supposedly creating a sitcom universe in which he is alive. WandaVision will have a twist with Doctor Strange 2, with fans speculating that Doctor Strange will save Wanda from her own magic.

It’s quite likely that Strange and Wanda cross paths because Strange reacts to his guilt in a similar way to Wanda. That day, both of them lost people, and despite their incredible magical abilities, none of them was able to rescue their friends and loved ones.

It’s unclear if this has any bearing on the unspeakable evil he unleashes – or what actually opens a portal to the multiverse – but the pair’s respective breakdowns (if Strange has one) may be what binds them together. Would one of the magical creatures have to rescue the other from themselves if this happened?

In the Multiverse of Madness Doctor Strange is already far out there, and Benedict Cumberbatch’s first appearance will be in Spider-Man 3. Since Stephen Strange is supposed to want to fill the Tony Stark-shaped void in Peter Parker’s life as a mentor figure, he will feel obligated to pay tribute to Tony’s memory.

If his desire to do right by Tony stems from whatever guilt or sorrow he is experiencing as a result of his failure to avoid Iron Man’s demise, it could lead to a character journey in his upcoming sequel that is identical to Wanda’s in WandaVision, revealing a different dimension to the character.
