WandaVision Director Knows The Ending Will Disappoint Some Marvel Fans

WandaVision Updates: Given the high level of interest in WandaVision, director Matt Shakman acknowledges that the Disney+ series’ finale would not please all Marvel viewers.

For the WandaVision finale, director Matt Shakman knows he won’t be able to satisfy all Marvel viewers. After a slow start, the Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany-led series are down to its final episode, and based on recent revelations, it appears that the series is gearing up for a final fight with Wanda and Agatha Harkness, as well as white Vision. All are looking forward to seeing how the narrative concludes, and the show’s director is aware that certain viewers may be disappointed.

WandaVision, Marvel Studios’ most unique project to date, was heavily influenced by classic sitcoms from the past. But it’s always been clear that Wanda and Vision’s perfect suburban life in Westview isn’t as it seems.

The show’s plot became more apparent as the weeks passed, with the penultimate episode showing how the Maximoff Anomaly began.

By revealing the rebooted monochromatic Vision, it also validated Hayward and S.W.O.R.D’s proposal. People are excited to see how the series concludes as it approaches the final episode, which is expected to be the longest.

What the Director has to say about WandaVision Ending?

Insider

Shakman discussed the WandaVision finale with EW, and although he didn’t go into narrative details, he did emphasize that the episode is about Wanda’s depression and her path through it. Although the finale annoys some Marvel viewers, the writers made sure to craft a conclusion that suits the series’ narrative.

“I hope them to have had a positive experience on their trip. I understand that there are so many ideas out there that many people would be confused by one or more of them. But we’ve been sharing this narrative of Wanda coping with depression and trying to embrace her loss for a long time, and ideally, viewers can find that the ending is both shocking and rewarding and that it feels predictable because it’s the same narrative they’ve been seeing all along.”

There were a bunch of new theories on what was actually going on in WandaVision like there were in every high-profile film or TV show, and for the most part, the series did a fantastic job of defying expectations.

The stunt casting of Evan Peters as fake Pietro in episode 5 sent fans into a panic, with many believing it was actually Quicksilver from the Fox X-Men universe, and that it was part of Marvel Studios’ attempt to get mutants into the MCU. However, this does not seem to be the case, since the series revealed that he is a mystery character sent by Agatha.

As WandaVision approaches its final run, there are a few lingering theories, the most prominent of which is Mephisto’s alleged role in the show’s plot. Bettany has already mentioned another surprise guest that hasn’t been revealed, so keep an eye out for that.

Throughout it all, it’s important to remember that for the show to succeed, it must fix Wanda’s current situation and put her on a course to progress in the MCU.
