Cobra Kai Season 4: Estranged father is back?

It seems that season 4 of Cobra Kai will be focussing on the Diaz family as hinted by the casting of the show.

Vanessa Rubio (Carmen Diaz) been promoted to series regular, Netflix can continue to showcase her relationship with Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), and various unanswered questions about her husband could be solved.

If the unknown mysterious father to Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) shows up in the coming season 4, it could however strengthen the storyline and can also bring a lot more conflict for Johnny as the Diaz family conflicts will affect him the most.

Miguel Estranged father has always been a threat to the family during the 3 seasons of Cobra Kai, according to the storyline Carmen got married at the age of 18 only but eventually left with her mother Rosa (Rosa Bianco) and little Miguel to Ecuador after she got to know about her husband’s relation to the criminal world.

Johnny played a major part in Miguel’s recovery from the near-fatal fall which eventually led him to develop a romantic connection with her mother Carmen. Season 4 of the series could be a chance to for digging into Carmen’s past as Rubio has a larger role for it just like the series did in its 3^rd season with   John Kreese (Martin Kove).

If the series shows the estranged father in flashback sequences, then it might work out well in order to make things clear and open up with Johnny, which will strengthen their bond and allow Zabka’s character to better understand the needs of Carmen, Miguel, and even Rosa.

The fate of the unknown husband is still not clear and is unsolved. It is still not clear that if he’s any threat to the Diaz family or not and if Carmen really fled to Ecuador, whether he is alive or dead.

For now, he’s just an unknown character that looms over the subplot of the series, and is very unlikely that Cobra Kai season 4 would include a full-blown narcos subplot involving Carmen’s husband.

It is more likely that the series will introduce him first and then eliminate him as a potential threat or Carmen will learn that he is killed while collaborating with cartel members, or she’ll discover that he doesn’t have any malicious intent and simply wants to have a relationship with his son. No matter what, Johnny will be there as complete support for the Diaz family.
