Mortal Kombat Updates: Simon McQuoid’s live-action Mortal Kombat reboot official trailer has finally been released after a lengthy wait.

The first trailer for Mortal Kombat is publicly announced to be released on 18 February. For the first time since 1997, the latest live-action remake, directed by Simon McQuoid and created by The Conjuring’s James Wan, would carry the iconic video game series to the widescreen.

On April 16, Mortal Kombat is scheduled to release, in both theaters as well as on HBO Max online.

The franchise walked away from the public of cinema after the critical failure of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation in 1997. So, finally, it is coming back with high expectations.

McQuoid’s film features an impressive cast that includes Joe Taslim, Mehcad, Jessica McNamee, Ludi Lin, Brooks, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Josh Lawson, followed by Lewis Tan (Into the Badlands, Wu Assassins).

There will be a variety of signature game warriors, such as Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, Jax, Kano, Kung Lao, and Raiden. Tan’s character, Cole Young, will be a brand new entry to the Mortal Kombat community.

Fans have seen only glimpses of the upcoming film as of now, but that was about to switch. The official Twitter account of the film has recently posted about the announcement of the trailer, they posted that the trailer is going to release at 9 am PT, on February 18.

A look at Josh Lawson’s Kano, one of many close-up character portraits uploaded to the account to create excitement for the upcoming trailer, was also included in the update. After months, lovers of film will eventually be able to watch the new film in action.

It stays to be seen whether or not McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat would be worth waiting, however. To say the least, the record of success of video game movie versions is poor, but with successes like Detective Pikachu, Sonic the Hedgehog, and several popular TV series such as Netflix’s Castlevania, the pattern has started to shift in recent times.

The original 1995 Mortal Kombat film is now known to be one of the greatest video game versions, enjoyable, if a little dumb, and possibly that legacy will continue into the remake.

An amount of famous martial artists are included in McQuoid‘s cast, who’ve been sure to bring the title tournament a level of excitement and genuineness.

The director himself said it was a massive focus to create compelling fights, and with good luck, that amount of attention will pay off. The deadly finishing actions of the movie will also be featured in the movie. Finally, viewers will have a clear look at the fights, the deaths, and much more.
