Winona Ryder Said Keanu Reeves Is ‘Very Special’ to Her: ‘I Have So Much Love and Respect for Him’

Keanu Reeves: Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves have been companions for quite a while and shared screen space in movies. They have a genuinely special relationship that besides their professional life extends to a personal level as well.

During the promotions of the film Destination Wedding, back in 2018, Ryder and Reeves shared why they love each other to such an extent.

After Ryder accepted her role in Destination Wedding, she sent the content script to Reeves, accepting that “he was the ideal individual” to be her co-star.

“I knew it couldn’t work unless it was sort of the perfect people and he was the first person I thought of,” she told Today in 2018. “Once I kind of got him in my head, I couldn’t imagine doing it without him and so, thank god” he was available for filming.

Ryder shared how the content was special and unique, quoting “stuff that neither of us had done,” adding it’s “always ideal to experiment and try new things.”

Reeves was excited to get with his buddy and regular co-star. “That’s kinda what you wrote. You were like, ‘I like this script, would you check it out,’” he recalled. “I think I read it that night and then I think I contacted you two days later and was like, ‘let’s go do this.’”

“I was truly eager to get a letter and email from Winona and to get this script and it’s a radiant content and I felt that it was truly sort of current and taking in another to do this thought of a relationship,” Reeves added.

He said he cherished the characters, screenplay, and dialogues. In addition to it, he adored working with Ryder on the grounds that it comforted and motivated her to show her comedic abilities.
