Classroom Of The Elite Season 2 Update: A sensation with viewers around the world was the first season of Classroom of the Elite, but has a release date for Season 2 been formally announced?

Anime viewers are accustomed to their favorite series’ long hiatus between seasons, but it gets to a certain point where anticipation and excitement turn into skepticism and confusion.

Classroom of the Elite was possibly one of the best anime series of 2017, but it’s been three long years since the first season concluded.

There have been a number of posts and reports circulated lately on social media that the second season will be coming out soon, but what do we officially know about season 2?

Renewal Update

Studio Lerche did not renew Classroom of the Elite for a second season at the time of publication and looks impossible to return.

When the official trailer for part 2 of the light novel series was released, there was a lot of confusion about season 2 of Classroom of the Elite. Under the mistaken belief that this teaser was for season 2 of the anime, the video was posted via social media, building hopes from the fandom that the series would return soon.

However, the chances of the anime being possibly renewed for a second season remain extremely slim and the reason for this is the reaction it has received from audiences. Although the first season performed well in the western world, the series was negatively received in Japan and was heavily criticized for how the light novel series was translated.

As soon as some new details about the future of Classroom Elite are publicly announced, we will update this post.

Classroom Of The Elite Season 2: Release Date

Since Classroom of the Elite has not been formally renewed for a second season, a possible release date remains uncertain, but we predict a 2022 premiere if season 2 is revealed.

Performance (if renewed) depends on two factors for the second season of Elite Classroom; when the series gets the green light and how many resources it is provided.

Although there may be ample source material from the light novel series to translate into a second season, Classroom of the Elite might not be a high priority from a production point of view, i.e. there are more valuable series that Lerche may be focusing on. 

For this reason, before they even contemplate producing a second season, the studio could wait until they have a comparatively open production window. This means that the most possible release date for season 2 will be 2022 at the very earliest if renewed within the next six months.
