Shrill Season 3: Possibilities On Release Date & Cast Update

Published by

Latest updates of Shrill Season 3: Shrill is reportedly coming to an end, with the forthcoming season 3 announced to be the last season of the Shrill show. The sitcom stars Saturday Night Live cast member Aidy Bryant, who also writes for and directs the series alongside Lorne Michaels and Elizabeth Banks.

Based on the novel Shrill: Notes from Loud Woman by Lindy West (who also acts as an executive producer), the series has received acclaim for the brilliant and empathetic battle against fatphobia and body-shaking in both a very human and an amusing way.

Shrill follows Annie (Bryant), a young woman who pursues a career in journalism while still grappling with how her body shape influences everyone’s expectations of her, including her own.

Encouraged by her best friend Fran (Lolly Adefope), Annie learns to assert her self-esteem and to feel secure with her own body.

Over the span of its current two seasons, Shrill has tackled the heights and depths of both Annie’s professional and personal life and has proven to be one of Hulu’s funniest, most inspiring, and most heart-warming recent offerings.

The season 3 shooting was officially closed in December 2020 with schedules of collisions and disruptions due to the coronavirus pandemic that forced Bryant to be absent from much of the current season of SNL.

Now, Hulu has confirmed that season 3 will be the last season of Shrill, stating that the final eight episodes will arrive on the streaming service at some time this spring.

Shrill is only one of the many TV shows that will be coming to an end this year, and while it may not be a massive drama like Better Call Saul or a big follower like Supergirl, it’s always going to be missed by its fans. Shrill provides a new take on the influence that society attaches to weight, and how it impacts women in particular. The audience was waiting to watch this series.

The cast of Shrill season 3:

The cast and crew realized that season 3 would be the last one for a while, thereby giving the writers the opportunity to wrap up Shrill in the most satisfactory way possible.

If this means that viewers get to see Annie’s career as a writer taking off beyond and above her job at The Weekly Thorn, see her pursue a stronger love interest than her deadbeat ex-boyfriend Ryan, or just go to more awesome pool parties with Fran, the last season of Shrill is sure to be her best yet.
