Why the release date of “In the Dark Season 3” is postponed?

Currently, Netflix has a contract with The CW whereby, after eight days of the final season on the network, all their latest shows whose first episode was published before Fall 2019 are streamed.

On 14 May 2020, for example, eight days after its last episode on the CW, Riverdale Season 4 came to Netflix.
This means a release date for Netflix is entirely linked to the CW one. When some CW shows ended due to the coronavirus in early 2020, they all came to Netflix at an early age. It also states, though, that the contrary is true: If the release date of a CW show is postponed, then Netflix also retains one.

And it appears that the release date of 3 CW is postponed in the Dark Season. The network has postponed the bulk of its most significant shows as a reaction to Covid-19 until January 2021, because the series could not resume shootings in their normal early summer schedule.

Among the shows normally starting in September or October but now being shown in January are Riverdale, The Flash, and All American.

So what does that mean for In the Dark that normally begins to breathe in April?

TVLinere notes that the midseason show will take place. However, as almost the entire calendar is up until 2021, it leaves it unlikely that we will see the show return until May, if one of The CW’s 13-episode seasons ends, where it disappears through the void.

If the show returns only in May, it is unlikely that it will end on the CW before August during the dark seasons 3, because Netflix will not arrive before late August or early September.

CW contains Dynasty, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow, which is to say that their Netflix release dates will also be announced. Among the other shows “held for midseason.”

However, for the seasons the CW still has not announced the complete release date, so the fans must keep updated. Meanwhile, the 1st and 2nd seasons of the show now streaming on Netflix.
