Grantchester: PBS Masterpiece & ITV Drama Renewed For Season 6, Secret To Be Revealed Of Geordie’s Hat

Grantchester: PBS Masterpiece Season 6 Updates: Since the quaint soap was revived by British broadcaster ITV and PBS Masterpiece, Grantchester is coming back for a sixth season.

Stars Robson Green and Tom Brittney, who shared the news in a live video on Instagram, will be returning.
This comes as the Kudos-produced drama’s fifth season finale is scheduled to air this Sunday in the United States.

Brittney and Green disclosed that in September the show is set to start shooting and could become one of the first major British scripted series to return.

The film, set in Grantchester, England, a charming yet crime-ridden village, follows the inquiries of an unusual pairing: a detective (Green) and a vicar (Brittney).

In 1957, a year after Prime Minister Harold MacMillan’s current fourth season, the British people said that they’d never had it so well, season 5 was raised at Cambridge.

Green said he was so happy that the show was coming back. Again, I can eat it. It’s a miracle,’ joked him.
They told him to keep September to January open. I just hope the scripts aren’t determined so much by anything outside our grasp, but I’m sure they’ll be,” he said, “I guess it’s going to be strange.

He added, “It’s looking good, Grantchester could be one of the first things to film,” Brittney, who said he was eager to get back to his happy place, stated, “You can’t write about COVID in the fifties.”

Green also stated that in season six, the mystery of DI Geordie Keating’s hat will be unveiled.
His hat is part of the costume in every series, and I’ve only worn it twice, but I carry it around with me. In the next season, you can find out why I’m wearing a hat. It’s not just about the hat, maybe there’s something that might be revealed under his hat,’ he said.

Grantchester is a co-production of ITV’s Kudos and Masterpiece and is distributed by Endemol Shine International internationally. It is produced by Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, writer-creator Daisy Coulam, and Rebecca Eaton of Masterpiece.
