Chesapeake Shores Season 5 Renewed: All the info Chesapeake Shores is returning!

Published by

Chesapeake Shores Season 5 Updates: A fifth season of the multi-generational family drama headed by Jesse Metcalfe and Meghan Ory, has been commissioned by Hallmark Channel.

There will be 10 episodes of the upcoming season and it is expected to premiere in summer 2021, where it will return to its regular Sunday night time slot.

Though production dates are still in flux, next year’s filming will resume.

For me, Chesapeake Shores was such a fulfilling, creative journey and a genuine faithful hit for the Hallmark Channel, as well as finding new audiences worldwide.

Metcalfe exclusively tells that Chesapeake Shores has been such a rewarding, imaginative experience for me and a true faithful success for the Hallmark Channel, as well as reaching new viewers around the world.

Our superfans call themselves ‘Chessies,’ and I know how invested they are in those characters. That’s why I’m thrilled to let them know that next summer we’ll be back with all the new episodes.

After the homecoming of older daughter Abby O’Brien (Ory), a high-powered career woman and divorced mother of two, Chesapeake Shores focuses on the O’Brien family, and Abby’s revived relationship with her high school sweetheart, successful singer-songwriter Trace Riley (Metcalfe).

In the latest Season 4 finale, which aired last September, after spending the season apart and entertaining new love interests, Abby and Trace obviously got back together.

“Over the previous four seasons, fans have watched the story of Trace and the O’Briens devotedly, while they have learned to transcend their differences and find unity in the family and in love,’ said Michelle Vicary, Crown Media Family Networks’ Senior Vice President of Programming and Network Publicity, in a statement.”

The inspiring tales of Chesapeake Beaches have been regularly made true by one of today’s strongest television casts. For these characters, we’re excited about their comeback and for audiences to witness a new story.

Treat Williams, Laci J. Mailey, Emilie Ullerup, Barbara Niven and Brendan Penny are all stars of Chesapeake Shores, based on books written by Sherryl Woods.

Ahead of the fourth season last August, Metcalfe, the actor opened up why the series struck a chord with its fanbase.
I think we want to tell a really grounded, real tale with Chesapeake Beaches, because I think sometimes the Hallmarkies like to exist in this ideal world, and that’s not the story we’re telling here,” he said. “We’re sharing a true-life story. In real life, there are ebbs and flows and things are not always flawless, but if anything is supposed to be, then it will be.”
