Hitman 3 Breaks Series Sales Records With Impressive Digital Launch

Hitman 3 Updates: Hitman 3  developer IO Interactive just revealed that the franchise has bagged their biggest digital sales launch in the series history.

Less than a year after announcing Sony’s first PlayStation event, the title was launched digitally and at retail earlier this week. As confirmed previously by IO Interactive, Hitman 3 is the final entry in the World of Assassination Trilogy. Therefore, this adventure this time could be the last for Agent 47 for some time.

There’s nothing to fret about for the fans and IOI in general though as an exploration of the antics of another beloved secret agent is lingering in the near future.

Last year, there was an announcement from the studio about the production of a brand-new James Bond game, with the tentative title- Project 007. But the storyline of 47 needed to be wrapped up before taking up the new adventure.

Apparently, on the sales front, the assassin is going out in style so much so that, IO  Interactive took to Twitter to announce the victorious news that Hitman 3 is selling better than any other entry in the series.

Though he didn’t share any specific sales numbers, the game is clearly winning on the Internet. He tweeted, “the biggest digital launch in franchise history.” Now, this clearly calls for celebration for the team.

Considering the struggle that IO Interactive’s servers went through due to the heavy inflow of players on the release day, the sales don’t come as much of a surprise.

Despite the technical issues at the launch, Hitman setting records in sales clearly depicts the worth of the game and is clearly great news for everyone involved.

Though it seemed a few years back that IOI and its acclaimed series were in a bit of a faux pas. After the Hitman release in 2016,  Square Enix, the long-time publisher decided to part ways with the Swedish studio.

The reports were, the reason for this departure was the publisher’s lost faith in the stealth property. To distribute Hitman 2 in 2018, IOI partnered with WB Interactive Entertainment. And after everything, decided to self-publish the game this year.

And lucky for them, it truly paid off. But the team is not going to come to a halt in the near future. After Hitman 3, IOI announced Project 007 too, titled James Bond. As of now, the center stage is taken by Hitman3 and all the other details remain under wrap.
