Legacies Season 3 Episode 2: Spoilers
Started by Caroline Forbes-Salvatore and Alaric Saltzman, the school serves two purposes: protecting its students from external threats and preventing them from themselves becoming threats. I Hope Mikaelson and her friends have managed to defeat a series of enemies for two seasons, but the Necromancer promises to be the greatest villain of season 3.
During Legacies season 1, the Necromancer made his first appearance when he appeared from the Malivore pit to procure one of the locks Malivore needed to resume his original form (He also exposed the fate of Klaus on The Originals after his ) In return, the creature pledged his freedom to the Necromancer. Season 2, Episode 9, revealed that with one caveat, Malivore made good on his end of the deal: the Necromancer was stripped of his powers, forcing him to live in Texas as human scooping He befriended Chad, a dim co-worker who helped the Necromancer to recover his powers in his search.
Sadly for Chad, he no longer had free will by the time he realized the Necromancer’s diabolical schemes involved killing children. He was doomed to serve the Necromancer forever like a doltish Renfield.
Alaric negotiated the freedom of Raf Waithe, Alyssa Chang, and Chad in exchange for Josie’s black magic during the season 2 finale. Chad, however, met a grisly end at the hands of his former master in the season 3 premiere. The characters of the Vampire Diaries who died have often returned to the land of the living thanks to a magical loophole, so is there a chance that fans will see Chad again? Chad’s fate remains up in the air, according to the show’s executive producer, Brett Matthews.
Legacies Season 3 Episode 2: Possible Plot
Matthews replied during a recent interview with TVLine when asked about the Necromancers going along, get along acolyte:
“Death is pretty fluid, but it felt like a tragic end for Chad at the same time. He’s a tiny character, but he sure grew upon us. I don’t know if we’ll ever see Chad again, but at the end of this episode, he’s pretty definitely dead. His effect on the Necromancer is going to be felt going forward. In other ways, he will live on.”
The primary motive of the Necromancer for killing Chad is obvious: it was an efficient way to get Alyssa to agree to eternal servitude. Legacies dropped clues that Alyssa was heading down a dark path. Other than using her magic to burn their house down with them inside, the backstory about the deaths of her parents is vague. When she vanquished Alaric, Lizzie, and Josie Saltzman (three characters who appear in all three shows) to the Prison World, she elevated her status from misunderstood mean girl to burgeoning villain.
How could Chad figure in the storyline of the Necromancer move forward? Before he killed him for the first time, he revealed he had a soft spot for Chad, even though once the Necromancer regained his powers, he made it clear that he was the master of Chad, not his friend. The closest thing the villain had to a conscience, however, was Chad, and he’s unlikely to find Alyssa as affable as his former goofy sidekick. When it comes to his weekly monster format, Legacies has a problem. The show has failed to introduce a complex, charismatic villain like Katherine Pierce or Klaus, unlike its predecessors (Fans shouldn’t expect Klaus to make a cameo in the series.)
