WandaVision Copying The Mandalorian Was Smart Because of Its Twists

Published by

WandaVision Updates: An upcoming American television miniseries, set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, it ties into the latest film Avengers: Endgame.

Distributed by the streaming network of Disney+ and created by Jack Schaeffer and under the direction of Matt Shakman, this project was ordered early in  April 2019 and reeled under the production phase later from that November, prior to the pandemic hit us with a major setback.

However, the filming was restored back in November 2020 and the release is right around the corner now as the first series in Phase Four of the MCU.

Dig into the rundown about its storyline below

Filmed after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), this trails back to the past in a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) — two super-powered beings living idealized suburban trying to conceal their powers.

But as they begin to enter new decades and encounter television tropes, the couple suspects things are not as they seem. per an official description from the logline of Disney+

WandaVision will help set the storyboard for the succeeding screening of the MCU films Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (premiering March 2022), as is Spider-Man 3 earmarked to arrive on Dec. 17, as affirmed earlier by Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and the other live-action projects at their disposal for a release.

WandaVision takes up the same release model as The Mandalorian; which is indeed an idea well-contrived and helps to build intrigue around the show’s many secrets.

Contrary to many other streaming contemporaries, Disney+ decided to release episodes of The Mandalorian on a weekly installment rather than giving away all episodes at once.

While this model has had some demoralizing reviews for a more traditional, TV-like attempt, the benefits of a week-to-week release model can certainly override the drawbacks when possessing the right element.

Director Matt Shakman and MCU producer Kevin Feige both have not nudged the claims of The Mandalorian’s influence on WandaVision’s release schedule and Shakman spoke in response “Binging has its place, for sure, but there’s something about the mystery – especially for a show like WandaVision – where people can think about what they’ve watched and come up with their own theories and it builds anticipation” despite their highly nuanced narrative styles.

Stay tuned in to catch the latest updates.
