Step Up Season 3: Everything That Fans Should Know

Published by

Step Up Season 3: High Water has danced its way out of the TV graveyard: The drama series has been picked up at Starz for Season 3, after getting canceled at YouTube in 2019.

The series follows the students and faculty of High Water, Atlanta’s most cutthroat performing arts school. When twins Tal and Janelle relocate from Ohio, they find themselves in a world where every move is a test. As they attempt to navigate their new world – on and off the dance floor – they’ll discover just how deep they’re willing to dig to realize their dreams and seize their moment.

Production for season 3 had not been planned before the coronavirus pandemic hit all our lives. Nonetheless, filming and production of almost all TV shows and movies had abruptly terminated due to this.

Naya Rivera died suddenly on July 8 while swimming in a lake with her son. Rivera played Collette, principal, and co-founder of the High Water Performing Arts School.

Step Up Season 3: Update

The news left all the viewers and non-viewers heartbroken. Condolences to her son and may she rest in peace. However, the incident has also left the fandom on a cliffhanger as to what will happen to the show without its lead female actress. She was set to return to her show Step Up in 2021, but now the show will have to write around her absence.

Season 2 of Step Up, originally streaming on YouTube Premium as Step Up High Water, ended with a cliffhanger where Collette’s partner and love interest, Sage Odom (Ne-Yo), was arrested just before embarking on a big tour.

The third season of ‘Step Up’ will premiere on the Starz app as the Lions Gate production company moved production from YouTube to Starz. Meanwhile, ‘High Water’ is dropped from the title of ‘Step Up’.

The cult-based superhit web series features some amazing actors much to the delight of the binge-watchers. Among the notable actors include Lauryn McClain(Janelle Baker), Patric Jones (Tel Baker), Marcus Mitchell (Dondre), Terrence Green (Rigo), Carlito Olivero (David Jimenez), Jade Chynoweth (Odalie Allen), Eric Graise (King) and Faizon Love (Al Baker).
