One Night In Miami is a 2020 American drama film. The film is based on a fictional meeting of a group of high-class black Americans. The story revolves around the discussion and results based on the topic they discuss after they celebrate Mohammad Ali’s title win in boxing.

Directed by Ragina King, the movie sees the real struggle behind being successful during the civil rights movement in America.

One Night In Miami: Know About The Cast And Characters

The story is based on some real-life incidents and the cast for the movie was chosen to keep in mind the background story of each character.

The cast includes Kingsley Ben-Adir as Malcolm X. Eli Goree as Cassius Clay (Mohammad Ali), Aldis Hodge as Jim Brown, Leslie Odom as Sam Cooke, Lance Reddick as Brother Kareem, Christian Amgby as Jamaal, Joaquina Kalukango as Betty X, and many more.

Malcolm X

Malcolm x was someone who believed in the civil rights of people. He had a thought that it is very important to have a good “weapon” for the struggle. He was the inspiration behind the song “a change is gonna come” by Cooke.

Malcolm was murdered on February 21, 1965. This is roughly after a year of Miami discussion. Malcolm was assassinated by some unidentified personalities before a speech at Audubon Ballroom in New York.

Betty X

Betty x was the wife of Malcolm x. she has a smaller role in the movie and was shown worried about her husband her 6 children.

The lady never remarried and took all responsibilities of her 6 children. Later on, her own grandson set her on fire because of which she died three days later, aged 63. The last she was seen in the movie was listening to Cooke’s song.

One Night In Miami: Cassius Clay or Muhammad Ali

Cassius clay, from the very beginning, was interested in joining the nation of Islam but was pretty confused. With the suggestion of Malcolm x, clay finally joined the Nation of Islam and was named Muhammad Ali.

Ali is known to have done a lot for black people around the world. He was also a very successful boxer and maintained his body till the 1970s. His fame grew as he was chosen as the spokesperson for human rights. He was also awarded a presidential medal for freedom in 2005.

Unfortunately, Ali passed away in June 2016 at the age of 74.
