Stay in the loop with Lupin: what to expect from season 2

Lupin Season 2 Update: Since its premiere in January 2021, Lupin is quickly becoming the hottest crime drama show available on Netflix. The French crime series has been a serious hit for Netflix and will be brought back for a second season to inform the fans about the fate of Assane Diop, the gentleman thief.

Lupin stars Omar Sy as a Senegalese Frenchman named Assane Diop, who takes Inspiration from the adventure stories about master thief Arsène Lupin, written by French writer Maurice Leblanc.

He makes the persona his own while investigating a conspiracy that leads to his father’s suicide. The Netflix show co-stars French actress Ludivine Sagnier as the protagonist’s ex-wife, Claire.

The first part of Lupin concludes with a share of familial drama, as Assane travels to Étretat, France with Claire and their 14-year-old son, Raoul.

Lupin Season 2: Update

Flashback sequences inform the audience about the master thief’s lost romance for Claire and explain why Claire tends to worry when Assane disappears during the train ride.

Lupine Season 2

Netflix hasn’t set an official release date for Lupin Part 2 as of January 2021, but new episodes are likely to be released in the second half of the year.

Since the series has been a major success so far, Netflix could also possibly Greenlight a part 3 of the series. Lupin: part 2 is likely to premiere in the summer of 2021.

The Lupin part 1 finale concludes with a train face-off between Assane and an assassin hired by Hubert Pellegrini (Hervé Pierre), the former boss of the gentleman thief’s father.

For a brief moment, it seems like Assane’s family trip to Étretat will go as planned after the gunman is tricked and subsequently arrested at Le Havre. However, the assassin is immediately released after investigators discover that he’s been framed by someone, presumably the mysterious Lupin thief.

The foe then finds his way to Étretat and kidnaps Raoul. Meanwhile, investigator Youssef Guedira (Soufiane Guerrab) pieces together evidence from Lupin-themed crimes and tracks Assane down: a cliffhanger that ends part 1 of the Netflix show.

The second part of Lupin is likely to tap into the master thief’s vulnerabilities and would portray him as a loose cannon, a man who lives his life dangerously and while doing so, will jeopardize the lives of the ones he loves.

Claire would be put at the crossroads yet again in the second part where she must choose if she has had enough of Assane’s antics or she will travel down this path with him.

It may show Assane providing for his family whilst he portrays the master thief. One can only expect what more is to arrive from this brilliantly executed drama.
