Servant Season 2: Star Rupert Grint and Nell Tiger Free Run After Big Twists

Servant Season 2 Updates: For the upcoming season of their show ‘Servant’, stars Rupert Grint and Nell Tiger Free discussed how their characters get pulled closer together, chase after more drama and action.

The mystery continues for Jericho Turner and Leanne Grayson.  As was seen in the show’s first Season finale, Leanne disappeared silently into the night of which Turners had no clue.

Along with her, the living, breathing Jericho went missing as well but many questions are hanging as it is not clear how, or why the realistic baby doll that opened the season returned to his crib.

Hence, In the coming Season 2, Sean and Dorothy Turner will leave no stone unturned to get their son back, as they bring Dorothy’s brother Julian along for the chase.

Discussing the upcoming Season, Rupert Grint playing Julian and Nell Tiger Free playing Leanne assured that their characters have some big twists this time in their pockets.

As Julian loses control and begins to question his own beliefs, Leanne finds her voice and becomes “borderline unrecognizable” from the girl who appeared on the Turners’ doorstep in the Season 1 premiere. So there is a lot of Drama and Chasing in the show’s upcoming premiere.

How do we see Julian and Leanne continue to evolve in Servant Season 2?

Rupert: Yeah, I mean, there’s a lot. It feels like a very different season, this one. Straight off the bat, and the dynamic changes now that Dorothy sees the doll as a doll. The control is kind of slipping away from Julian and Sean, and with that, everything is ramped up.

I think, yeah, they’re faced with a lot of things. I mean, they’re people that are refusing to grieve, and with that comes out a lot of bad things in Julian.

He’s struggling with a lot: religion and what he believes. He kind of unravels throughout this series, and it’s been really fun to track that.

Nell: Yeah, I mean, Leanne definitely takes a big turn. There’s a big shift in her character and by the end of Season 2, she’s borderline unrecognizable from the Leanne that we met in Season 1 Episode 1.

So I think just watching her grow and change, not only as a character, or maybe an antagonist, but also just as a girl, and she discovers a lot of new things about herself and new things about the world.

Yeah, it’s just a big shift, and it’s a lot more drama, a lot more action, a bit of romance and violence. It takes off! [laughs]

What was something you had a chance to do in Season 2 that perhaps you couldn’t in Season 1?

Grint: Well, yeah, I think we see Julian a lot more in this season. I mean, he’s an unusual character, because he can come and go. He has a very different orbit.

But this time, there’s so much going on that he’s close by a lot of the time. So, yeah, with that — he’s just very conflicted, I think, in this. There’s a lot going on with this whole bravado thing, [which] is quite a thin veil, I think.

We see that more and more as a real coping mechanism for him, and he’s really a guy on the edge. Yeah, it’s been fun, but also, you never really know with a show like this. You never really quite know where it’s heading, so it’s a real thrill.

Free: For me, I think Leanne just takes such a big turn in Season 2 that I got to explore things I certainly didn’t get to in Season 1. Season 1, she’s quiet, she’s meek, she’s reserved.

She’s sort of a presence that’s always kind of in the background, but she’s still very much there, and in Season 2, we get to see her be pulled to the forefront of herself a little bit more. She gets to be a bit of a badass, so I’m really excited for everyone to see! It was really fun to play with.
