Reno 911: Renewed for 8th Season, Click to Know More

Published by

Reno 911 Season 8 Update: 911 from Reno! Season 8 has been formally renewed. The show was produced as a spoof of the popular reality crime TV shows at the time, primarily Cops.

The film is filmed in a mockumentary format that chronicles the Reno police officers as they struggle at their duties and make themselves look horrible on tape, a sharp contrast to the glamorous representation of the police by Cops that follows.

In addition to a rotation of funny people that included Cedric Yarbrough, Mary Birdsong, Niecey Nash, and Ken Marino, as well as Joe Lo Truglio and Ian Roberts in later seasons, Robert Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri Kenney-Silver all-star together. 911 from Reno! It first aired from 2003 to 2009 on Comedy Central and concluded after six seasons.

Netflix was considering choosing Reno 911! But it wasn’t until ten years later that the deputies returned to the Reno Sheriff’s Department for further hijinks. The reboot took place on the Quibi online website, and as another new season is reportedly on the way, it seems the show has found a new home there.

About video release of Reno 911:

For the new Reno 911, Quibi posted a short film! Season, which they market as “Part 2” of their comeback. In the clip, Lennon appears as Lt. Jim Dangle in character, complete with his famous outfit of short-shorts and boots.

Season 7 is now streaming for viewers on Quibi in the platform’s characteristic 10-minute bite-size episodes. Even though Quibi agreed in December 2019 to renew the show, Reno 911! The revival comes at a time where TV shows and police coverage are under fire when audiences challenge the role TV plays in portraying law enforcement, criminals, and the police supposedly protect people.

Perhaps more than any other film, policemen have come under pressure, with some online commentators saying it acts as political propaganda.

About The Show:

911 from Reno! However, it is in a rare role when it specifically satirizes programs like police and tries to depict the characters as comically incompetent professionals and individuals who are typically offensive.

The officers of the Department of the Reno Sherriff often gripe about how the show depicts them unfairly when making off-color jokes demanding censorship by the mockumentaries.
