The last teaser we got from Wendy Moniz during the previous installment had some hints about John Dutton and her character, Governor Perry strengthening their relationship in the latter part of the narrative.

Ranch owner John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) could finally get serious with his relationship with Governor Lynelle Perry in the upcoming season of Yellowstone.

She confirmed the characters share a deep affection for one another. While exchanging information with the Monster and Critics, she emphasized how they would upgrade the relationship beyond just physical to a platonic one. “I think they care about each other deeply, but I think that there’s a sadness with them because they can never quite get over those people that were their true loves.”

They could have bridged the gap long back had it not been for his discord with his daughter, Beth.

John who is still grieving the loss of his wife, Evelyn, could put his best step forward in the relationship with Lynelle if he survives the deadly attack in the season’s finale.

However, the on-and-off relationship too brings upon a lot of complications as the two are prominent political figures.
