The Challenge Season 36 Updates: Double Agents is back for Aneesa Ferreira,39, and she’s trying to get her first victory.”As a woman gets older, there’s so much pressure,” Aneesa told Hollywood Life EXCLUSIVELY.
For us on TV, it’s just different, particularly when it comes to a competitive show. I still want things to do. I don’t think you’re supposed to be a certain age and people look at you as someone unable to do stuff. For me, that is the main thing.
There’s a greater reason behind Aneesa, however, to stick with The Challenge all these years, because now more than ever, it matters. “In these shows, I want more women of color,” she admitted. Since it’s a smorgasbord of people of color, this show is amazing. I had never seen such a thing.
It was complete with representation. There were a lot of interesting topics we talked about and I was glad to be part of that. I need to go to these shows, period, only because of the aspect of representation.
Aneesa is no stranger to the physical and mental toll that this rivalry can take as a seasoned veteran of The Challenge. But even after competing in Double Agents, which was filmed earlier this year amid a coronavirus pandemic, she was.
“It’s just so inconsistent this season,” she explained. What’s going on and what to expect, you never know. We were never able to get a grip and never really realized what was happening. The minute we thought that we knew what was going on in the game, it was going to change. Psychologically….this one was
just a f*** mind.
Plus, Aneesa teases that the show will surely play a role in everything going on in the world. “This season is full of tears,” she admitted. I think we come from a very tough time-the pandemics happening, the matter of Black Lives happening.
I’ve been protesting and I know that there were some of my friends on the show, too. It was a hard time for us, and coming on the show and hearing everyone’s unique stories and mental health stuff…it was heavy. I had a lot of tears.
The Challenge: On Dec. 9 at 8:00 p.m., Double Agents premieres. To MTV. Longtime stars including Wes Bergmann, Darrell Taylor, Nany Gonzalez, and more are also included in the cast.
‘Total Madness’ on her sudden injury after last season, where she was eliminated right before the final challenge: I left with some ligament damage last season. Until I got home, I didn’t know and went to physical therapy and my ortho.
He was like… you’ve got a high ankle sprain, which for a lot of people is a career-ending injury. For a month, you have to be immobilized. By losing [to Utter Madness], I almost did myself a favour. It’s a warning, almost.
