The Wilds Season 2 Update: Amazon this Saturday announced the renewal of the second season of  The Wilds for a second season. An announcement made on social media revealed information about the cast and crew of the show. The series released its first season on Dec. 10. It was also a compilation of 10 episodes in all.

The plot is based on a group of teenage girls. Radically belonging to different backgrounds they are stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash tragedy. Amazon teased a twist to this season’s plot which shows the girls surviving despite encountering such a dangerous accident.

The series is also scripted by writer Sarah Streicher, who is a  part of Amazon Studios.

The studio’s boss Jennifer Salke’s pushes the streamer into the YA space.

The series, developed by Daredevil writer Sarah Streicher, is part of the move to drive the streamer into the YA room by Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke. In the Amazon, ABC Signature co-production, Amy B. Harris (Sex and the City, The Carrie Diaries) also works as a showrunner.

The pilot episodes are under the direction and production by Booksmart, The Spy Who Dumped Me, Life Partners creator, Susanna Fogel.

Prime Footage, announced on The Wilds’ Twitter account, officially renewed The Wilds for season 2. The news of the second installment comes less than two weeks after Amazon launched the first ten episodes. The Wilds, helmed by Amy B. Harris (Sex and the City), confirmed the second season with a video celebrating the cast, titled, “Did someone say season 2?” ”.

The ensemble cast of this season includes Rachel Griffiths, Sophia Ali, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards. Also Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Erana James, Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan, and Troy Winbush.
