A California Christmas: The Netflix movie gets a sequel.

The American Christmas film A California Christmas was recently released on the OTT streaming platform Netflix on 14 December 2020 and Netflix keeping the Christmas spirit has announced that the movie would be getting a sequel and primary filming begins in early 2021.

The Shaun Paul Piccinino directorial gained unexpected popularity in a short span of time. Therefore the holiday romantic comedy movie will be getting a sequel and will be titled “California Christmas: City Lights.”

The movie has been written by actress Lauren Swickard. Though no official stats have been released by Netflix, reportedly it has managed to enter in the list of streamer’s Top 10 lists for a while now after its release on December 14. The movie is attracting viewers after receiving a positive response from the audience as well as critics.

The production company of the movie ESX Entertainment has already started the pre-production work and is all set to commence shooting in early 2021. The sequel will be shot around California including Petaluma, Sonoma County, and surrounding areas.

The feel-good film has emerged out as an instant hit after its premiere on December 14. It was also ranked in No. 1 position in the U.S. for a week and has been able to maintain in the top 10 list since.

Talking about the first past, A California Christmas basically revolves around the character of a charming and wealthy real estate heir who tries to sell her family’s land before Yuletide Eve with the help of a hardworking farmer. The sequel will return with the familiar faces.
