During the TIME Person of the Year presentation that broadcast on Thursday night on NBC, a pleasing pre-recorded message from Vanessa played as an introduction to the autobiography segment.

Vanessa Bryant recollects her memories of 2020, where she missed her husband late Kobe Bryant, and their eldest Gianna Bryant. Vanessa expressed her grief on the loss of her husband and daughter. She also extended her condolences to the families that lost husbands, wives, sons, grandparents.

She paid tribute to the countless lives lost to the pandemic.

Following Vanessa’s speech, a video medley was played in remembrance of the celebrities and public figures who the world lost this year.

The late basketball player and his daughter lost their lives in a tragic copter crash in January this year. Others like Regis Philbin, Sean Connery, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Trebek, Chadwick Boseman, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor were also in the video.

Along with them, LeBron James was titled 2020 Athlete of the year. K-pop band BTS got the label of the 2020 Entertainer of the Year and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the prestigious 2020 Person of the Year.

After acquiring the title of the first female vice president Kamala Harris; reminisced her memories of childhood where her mother would say” ‘Kamala, you may be the first to do many things; make sure you’re not the last.”

The late NBA legend is surviving by daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka, 4, and Capri, 1.

Vanessa Bryant remembers her 2020 memories, where her late husband Kobe Bryant and their eldest Gianna Bryant missed her. Her sorrow over the loss of her husband and daughter was shared by Vanessa. She also extended her sympathy to families who had lost their fathers, their wives, their sons, their grandparents.
