A fantastic and brilliantly conceived look into a highly dysfunctional and wonderfully funny family of superhuman children who have now grown up, whose lives have all changed for the worse: The cast brings each and every one of these characters to life with ease and sophisticated realism – whether it’s Ellen Page’s troubles outcast Vanya Hargreaves, the wild card who abandoned the family and wrote a tell-all autobiography that wrecked the Academy; or the team’s pansexual, drug-addicted, stylishly unkempt mascot Klaus Hargreaves, memorably portrayed by Robert Sheehan.
The soundtrack is another terrific element to the story: each song choice better than the one before it. And the ending will leave you wanting more, which is why it’s very good that Netflix just renewed it for a second season! I can’t wait!. The plot continues to be refreshing and entertaining with this time change in season 2.
It discusses important themes that are quite relevant to today’s current events as Viewers are reminded that the diverse cast we love so much, face very different life situations in the ’60s based on their differences such as sexual orientation or race, touching on the discrimination/ injustices faced by these communities even today.
However, most events that happened was what I already knew would happen like…
– Vanya actually being inordinate
– Vanya being the most powerful and dangerous of the group.
– a character from the groups past dying/threatened by her hands
– number 5 betraying the commission
– Klaus being able to control his powers to a greater level
– Alison losing an ability
– Alison unable to kill Vanya
– After Klaus coming back from accidentally time traveling he was crying because he lost a loved one
– Diego seeking revenge and not pulling through after the detective’s death
– The detective being short-lived (however her death scene was a surprise).
