Law & Order: SVU: Chris Meloni Shares First Photo of Elliot Stabler’s Law And Order

Law & Order: SVU Updates: Chris Meloni will be soon seen as Elliot Stabler once again. A few days ago, he had shared one photo of his return as the much-loved character in The Law & Order: SVU.

Last Tuesday evening he started off the first day of filming on the NBC show in New York City. He will be returning to his role as Elliot Stabler after almost a decade.

Chris’s appearance on season 22 of The Law & Order SVU will be leading into a spinoff of Law & Order: Organized Crime, which is set to come out maybe in 2021.

It was to come out as the season 22 premiere earlier, but then SVU was pushed off NBC’s fall schedule, delaying his return.

More about the Law & Order: SVU

The American crime drama television show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit was created by Dick Wolf.  Mariska Hargitay was the onetime lead detective and then Captain Olivia Benson is a fictionalized version of the New York City Police Department.

Actor Christopher Meloni played the role of Elliot Stabler then after 12 seasons, he left the show. SVU is based on original Law & Order and some episodes are loosely based on real crimes that had earlier garnished the attention of the media. The show keeps you glued to the TV sets and never disappoints owing to its great stories.

It first released on September 20, 1999, as a spin-off version of the original Law & Order franchise. The 21st season of the show came out in September 2019, it became the longest-running show in the history of television.

Mariska Hargitay had already revealed the return of the show earlier…

Some days back Meloni’s former co-star Mariska Hargitay, who plays Oliva Benson had revealed about SVU return with a screenshot from a virtual table read featuring this cast, writers, and producers. “Well…it happened…,” Hargitay wrote on her Instagram post.

The Showrunner and executive producer of the show Warren Leight posted the same photo on Twitter. “Well, we had a fairly good read-thru,” he wrote, confirming that the virtual reunion was in preparation for the long-awaited reunion between Benson and Stabler.

Hargitay is said to come back with his role in the twenty-second season sooner than Organized Crime’s launch. Production on the new series, however, was delayed thanks to the coronavirus pandemic and change in the crew members of the show thus its release date was postponed to the next year. It has also delayed the reunion with Hargitay.
