The Witcher Season 2: The wait for the second season of The Witchers is long, but it’s well worth it. The show is returning to the second season and is currently filming. Henry Cavill returned from Rivia to Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allan as Ciri.

Season 2 is in development since early 2020, but some production delays have occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Witcher Season 2: Update

Season 2 recording began in early 2020 but ended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Netflix announced through the show’s official Twitter account that production will resume in August 2020.

The Witcher, recording at Arborfield Studios outside London, was canceled in early November 2020 due to the results of four COVID-19 tests, according to partner site Variety. Production resumed after a few weeks. The recording is expected to continue through 2021.

Henry, who plays Rivia’s Geralt, was injured when filming the second season. According to the sister site’s Deadline, he appears to have suffered “a minor injury to the leg muscles during the movie.”

The actor seems to have hurt his leg in the “assault course”. According to the British publication The Sun, he was “20 meters tall in a tree and wearing a seat belt.” The movie continues as Henry gets better.

Thue Oersted Rasmussen got to play Eskel in the second season but had to leave due to issues of delayed COVID-19 schedule. He called the event “heart” and said “thank you” for the time he spent on set.

Ciri is also seeing his new look. When Netflix showed her the picture, they wrote, “Someone seems to hang out with the wizard.” She is ready for battle!

Netflix announced an interesting side effect of The Witcher in July 2020. The prequel “The Witcher: Origins of Blood” is another six-part series. Lauren said the series “will dig deeper into the myths and legends of the continent.”

There is no official release date for the first episode. Another product is being developed called FILM. “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf” is a full-length animated film about the first year of Geralt’s mentor Vesemir.
