Yvone opens up about her Dialogue in The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4

Published by

Yvone opens up: The American dystopian tragedy series ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ has now been officially renewed for its fourth season in July 2019.

The production got a break due to the global pandemic COVID19 but now the work has been resumed with proper safety guidelines.

The series is created by Bruce Miller and is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by author Margaret Atwood. The show started on 26 April 2017 and 3 seasons consisting of 36 episodes have been premiered as of now.

The basic storyline of the series revolves around a dystopia which is followed by a second American Civil War wherein a totalitarian society, fertile women known as Handmaids are subjected to child-bearing slavery.

While fans are highly anticipated the arrival of season 4 of the Hulu series, Yvonne Strahovski has recently opened about the creation of her character Serena Joy.

What Yvone has to say about her Dialogue?

She noted that there were many instances when she and the showrunner Bruce Miller were not on the same page during the series production. She explained “The season is pretty much written but there is a lot of back and forth with all of us.

From my part I try to meet up with Bruce and the writers to get an overall sense of the arc and then as the scripts are coming in, going over them thoroughly before shooting starts and raise any questions.”

Yvone aked to make a few changes to her dialogue

She continued “That’s one of the great things about working on this show, it’s an open dialogue with the writers and all of us actors. Any time there’s anything that needs further discussion, we’re all working on it.”

“There’s been a few times something hasn’t felt right and it’s been changed or adapted into what we’re all intuitively feeling. Me and Bruce have had a few moments where we’re both, he’s been strong on one thing and I’ve been strong on one thing and we kind of have it over a week or two.”

She also went on to explain how this clash of thoughts occurs. “I think the actors on this show know their characters so well and they have such respect for them and such ownership over them.

“We’re always saying, as producers, we’re always saying, yes, this a great idea we love this and this works here.

“But you know, producers are saying, we need to see what Ann [Dowd] thinks, we have to see what Yvonne [Strahovski] thinks and have those conversations because there are going to be things that come up because they’re their characters now. I have always found them to be nothing but fruitful. It’s never like, ‘I wouldn’t do this.’”

So, everything said and done, it will be interesting to see, how makers continue the series to keep the storyline intriguing. Till then you can watch the previous 3 seasons which are available on Amazon Prime Video and Now TV.
