The Gift Season 2: Ending Explained- Spoiler Alert!

The Gift Season 2 Updates: “The Gift” is a psychological thriller that was first aired on 27 December 2019 on Netflix. This Netflix show is based on the personal journey of a painter in Istanbul.

The first season of “The Gift” ended with the lead character, Atiye (starring Beren Sarat), going to the Gobekli Tepe cave to bring back Cansu, her adopted sister. Read on to understand the plot of season 2 in detail.

Know The Detailed Ending of The Gift Season 2

In season one, Atiye decided to bring back Cansu, which depicted that she went to another universe where Cansu grew up with Erhan, her brother, and was still Elif.

Serdar Yilmaz, cast by Tim Seyfi, killed Cansu in this season. Atiye’s parents Mustafa and Serap, never met in this new universe, so Atiye was not born. Also, Serap’s attempts to stop the digging at Gobekli Tepe brought her to an asylum. But Serap acts as Atiye’s guide in season 1 as she saw Atiye in her dreams.

In this season, we come to know that Serdar was under the influence of an organization that made him do things by promising to bring his wife back. They also pledged in the second world to bring Ozan back.

As it happened in Season 1, Serdar of the new world is resolved to shoot Erhan and get Atiye to the cave door. So, in this season, we understand Serdar’s actual motives clearly. 

Ending Explained

When Serdar experiences breathing problems, Atiye heals him. Thus, he has a change of heart and asks Atiye to go to the door, explaining how her child can solve the problem of children not being born. He also said how the organization was doing all this to stop the earth from dying.

The new season also flashes back to the Season 1 universe, where Serdar wakes up in a hospital after Hannah attacked him. He heads to the cave and finds Atiye, but she tells Serdar that she has to go back; otherwise, her daughter cannot save the universe.

Then, we see Atiye giving birth to her, but again see a callback to Season 1 opening. We see Atiye in a white dress covered in blood when a hooded man took her baby. He was revealed to be Ozan, working for the organization.

Thus, we get to see a lot more in Season 2 of this series; however, a lot is yet to be discovered. We don’t know what this mysterious organization is up to and why they want Atiye’s child. We also don’t know anything about Ozan and can predict him to be the primary villain in Season 3.

Season 2 of “The Gift” is streaming on Netflix, and now that we have explained the ending in detail, you will have no problem getting to season 3 with ease.
