Black Lightning Season 4 Update: Here is sad news for CW’s Black Lightning stars. It has been announced that the series will witness the final season, Friday. Unfortunately, one of the cast members of the series is also about to make an exit from the season. China Anne McClain (who plays Jennifer Pierce, aka Lightning), has taken to Instagram to reveal that the coming up season was supposed to be her last season.
It has also been revealed to us that she had been signed only for a few episodes in Season 4. Thus we can anticipate less of Lightning when the season marks its arrival on Feb. 8, marking it’s the conclusion.
On being asked about her reasons for exit from the show, she revealed that God has planned to displace her in more than one involvement and that is much greater and bigger than the show itself. She is just persevering in doing God’s planned works for her and nothing different.
The actress also made it clear that she has decided to leave the show, not basing on any bitter experiences on the part of the show or its networking. Rather she has articulated that the people are great to work with and that it is solely her personal choice.
So quoting her words, “I’m not leaving because I had a terrible time working at The CW,” she said, fighting back tears. “I like the CW. I like [CW network president] Mark Pedowitz, I like [Warner Bros. president] Peter Roth, [EP] Greg Berlanti, I love [showrunner] Salim [Akil], I always will. He gets it. And people that actually know me… they know why I make the decisions that I make”. This makes it quite clear that leaving the show was at her own discretion. She must be having some better and great plans in store for her to work out.
Towards the end of the video, she posted on Instagram we see that she wishes luck to Akil and costar Jordan Calloway. The duo is up with the development of a spinoff, a Painkiller.
Black Lightning would surely be a great watch, staring some of the great faces in it. Stay tuned!
