Hi Score Girl manga will finally be translated to English

Published by

Hi-Score Girl (also known as Hai Sukoa Gāru) is an anime variation of the Japanese manga illustrated by Rensuke Oshikiri. And keeping in mind that Season 2 is scheduled to show up on Thursday, April 9, Hi Score Girl Season 3 hasn’t been reported.

The series previously debuted in Japan in July 2018 and showed up on Netflix that December, as per Anime News Network. Hi Score Girl Season 2 was delivered in Japan on October 25, 2019, according to a similar article, and is just now showing up on Netflix. So if there are additional seasons, fans will probably be in for a pause.

The first Hi Score Girl manga (and the resulting anime series) starts in 1991 and follows a center schooler named Haruo (voiced by Kôhei Amasaki in the anime). He adores playing arcade games, and then he meets his match when Haruo’s rich classmate Akira Ono (Sayumi Suzushiro) begins playing Street Fighter II and beats him.

The show was distributed in the manga Monthly Big Gangan at the beginning of 2010, according to Anime News Network, closing in 2018 with ten great volumes.

Season 2 happens in 1996, and follows Haruo as he’s stuck in a love triangle with Akira and Koharu Hidaka. Notwithstanding, Oshikiri is right now dealing with a side project called Hi Score Girl DASH, which follows Koharu as a center teacher in 2007, according to Anime News Network.

Oshikiri’s first portion was delivered in Big Gangan in December 2019, the article detailed, so it’s from the get-go in the manga’s run.

Furthermore, it seems like English-talking fans will at long last have the option to enjoy the manga for themselves.  Volume 1 was at last distributed in English on Feb. 25, 2020. Volume 2 will be delivered on April 28, per the Square Enix site, while Volumes 3 and 4 are coming out on June 23 and Aug. 25, separately.

While there have not been any declarations that show DASH will be adapted into an anime, similar to its archetype, at any rate, fans can have confidence that Koharu’s story is proceeding past secondary school.
