The Endless Trench to get an Official entry by Spain for 2021 International Feature Film Oscar Race.

The Endless Trench Updates: This time, the Basque feature film ` The Endless Trench` will have the honor to represent Spain as it is selected by the Spanish Cinema Academy to compete for the best international feature film at the Oscars of the upcoming year which is 2021.

It is no surprise as The Endless Trench has already won numerous awards. The movie is a feature film from Aitor Arregi, Jon Garaño, and Hose Mari Goenaga trio and is all set to follow `Pain and Glory` by Pedro Almodóvar which was Spain’s submission for the current year 2020.

Though the movies French theatrical premiere was planned in October 2020 by Distributor Epicentre Films but was unfortunately canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic shut down for the second time in the country, there are still hopes that a theatrical premiere runs once the theatres reopen.

On November 6, 2020, the film will be available to the US audience for the first time since its Netflix release now that the expected announcement has been made.

The Endless Trench: Overview

The film begins with the Spanish Civil War and revolves around a newly wedded couple Higinio and Rosa who struggled hard to save their lives and thus end up living in confinement for a very long duration of 33 years.

While talking to Variety after the announcement, Olmo Figueredo said that amidst this pandemic and all the people have to somehow live in confined spaces, The Endless Trench seems to be a lot more significant and relatable to the audience.

He also added that they are excited to know the reaction of the US audience to the movie that shows a couple living in such an extent of confinement.

The film earned the nomination as it was immensely well-received both by the critics and the audiences and eventually won six of the eight nominated awards.

The upcoming 93rd Academy Awards is scheduled for April 25 and the five official nominees are expected to be announced on March 15, 2021.
