Narcos: Mexico Season 3: Is Diego Luna not Returning?

Narcos: Mexico Season 3 Updates: Narcos, the Netflix crime drama is back on board with a new season. But for this time, they are going to make it work without the protagonist and the drug cartel head, Felix Gallardo, which is enacted by Diego Luna.

The update is not limited there. Also, Variety has it that series showrunner Eric Newman will also quit after five seasons and co-creator Carlos Bernard will be substituted in his place.

In an interview,  with IndieWire, this April, Luna intimated that he is going to take a break after striving for two years in a row continuously.

Till now we have witnessed The sophomore season, which debuted in February. It concluded with the captivity of Luna’s Gallardo.

It has also been revealed by Moura, who made his directorial debut with 2019’s thriller drama Marighella, that he will be one of the directors on the new season of Narcos: Mexico at the 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) last November.

Also, the one who played Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar in the first two seasons of Narcos, Actor Wagner Moura, will be the director of two episodes of season 3.

The upcoming season will feature the havoc and the mutiny which will break out after Felix’s empire splinters. Along with that, it is going to bring before us a scenario where the independent cartels will struggle for their survival in the political unrest and violence, which will further lead to the emergence of Mexican kingpins.

In the fourth season of Narcos has plotted to bring before us the cocaine business in Colombia under the supervision of  Escobar and his Medellin Cartel. Thus it landed up being a series that highlights the starting of the Mexican drug trade.
