His Black Items are set in global diversity, an action from one country to another. The story begins in a world where all humans have animal partners called dæmons, which are symbols of the human soul. The series follows the life of an orphan named Lyra who lives with scholars at Jordan College, Oxford. As indicated in Pullman’s novel, Lyra finds out a hazardous/dangerous risky secret implicating Lord Asriel and Marisa Coulter. In his mission for a lost friend, Lyra reopens a series of kidnappings and links to a mysterious object called dust, which leads him on a journey that will lead him on his way across a boy named Will.
