Netflix’s Blood of Zeus: Synopsis, Production and Review

Blood of Zeus Updates: Blood of Zeus is a brand new anime based on greek mythology. Coming from the same studio that made Castlevania, this time it’s Gods and titans on the battlefield. There’s a lot of stuff crammed into eight episodes, so read on for a spoiler-free review.

Blood of Zeus: Synopsis

In an ongoing battle between the Gods of Olympus and the titans, a bastard named Heron living on the edges of ancient Greece turns into humanity’s best bet to defeat an army of demons after he finds mysteries of his past.

One can’t help but find themselves fully immersed the whole time in this massive tale of tragedy war love, and betrayal from beginning to finish.

Sure this series may spin a new story with its own set of dramatic intricacies, but the foundation and nature of the mythology remain the same. It plays on the legend of how Gods have a terrible habit of manipulating mankind.

Heron may not be Hercules but he is just as persistent and charismatic. Every episode reveals new information that pushes the characters more and more into the gray areas.

Production

Formerly titled ‘Gods and Heroes’ Blood of Zeus is created by Charlie and Vlas Parlapanides. The animation is done by Powerhouse Studios, the same studio behind Castlevania.

If you liked Castlevania, then you’ll immediately be sold by Blood of Zeus. It has the same pristine graphics- bold and intense.

Blood of Zeus is a magnificent series right from the writing to the animation. The characters and the storylines give us Greek mythology of the most epic proportions.

The world-building is so glorious, they even spare a few minutes during the closing credits in each episode to show you storyboards and character designs.

The music score on this show is remarkable with a heavy emphasis on the big choir and orchestral sounds, especially when it comes to the battle scenes. It’s the kind of music that reverberates around the room and gets your heart pumping for action.
