He further added that the opportunity created by Ballers for others is the real highlight and season 5 is the last season of the series.

What was the reason behind the abrupt ending of Ballers?

Despite its gaining popularity, the Season 4 finale of Ballers had only 600,000 viewers. Whereas, HBO’s then-famous series Barry gained around 2.21 million viewers in its Season 2’s finale. So, maybe the makers thought of investing in some ongoing and fresh drama, rather than some old story whose popularity is fading now.

Although the show enjoyed a great opening, but eventually in the last two seasons, the popularity has reduced. The reasons may be Dwayne’s busy schedule or the critical receptions, or competitions from other series.
