The Originals Season 6: Why the show was Canceled form Netflix, Amazon and CW?

The Originals Season 6 Updates: After the dramatic ending to season five of The Originals, fans are left wondering why this hit show was canceled when there was so much left to explore.

The Originals is the hugely popular spin-off show from the mega-series that was The Vampire Diaries.

The show followed Klaus Mikaelson; a vampire-wolf hybrid who becomes involved with the supernatural politics of the French Quarter in New Orleans.

The Originals was an emotional rollercoaster from the very first episode until the last.

The story had a got a little predictable after season 3, but none of us really expected that ending with Klaus and Elijah ending each other’s lives with the last white oak stakes.

However, there were some really touching endings for our characters. Freya and Keelin are preparing to start a beautiful little family together, whilst Marcel and Rebekah found happiness with the promise of a normal human life.

After the show entered its fourth season, the ratings began to slip away and the storyline was criticized by viewers for being too predictable.

The news that the show would not be returning after season 5 was announced on July 20, 2017.

Plec made the announcement herself on Twitter just before she headed out to Comic-Con that year. However, Plec ended her message by saying: “In a show about an immortal family who believes in ‘Always and Forever,’ it’s never really the end of the story…”

Possibly we are reading too much into this last goodbye, but many fans have continued to believe that the show could return one day.

Future spin-off shows have never been ruled out by either Plec or any of the main cast. However, at the time of writing, nothing has been confirmed and it is looking increasingly likely that we will never see a return to the world of Vampire Diaries.
