Actor Victoria Pedretti’s exclusive interview on ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ sequel

Published by

The Haunting of Hill House: This American web- television anthology series is a revamped version of Shirley Jackson’s  1959 novel of the same name brought to screen by Netflix’s streaming service.

The plot is intermittently bound up to two timelines, following five siblings whose paranormal experience at the ‘Hill House’ keeps spooking them in their present lives with flashbacks debunking the events on the night of 1992 when the family fled from the mansion.

It has been credited high accolades for its ‘effective ghost story’ and its S2 is already in the can with its premiere dated for Oct9,2020.

To catch up to its mystifying fiction, here is its synopsis briefed for you:

It extended for 10 long episodes before going off-air. It diligently parallels two timelines,  one in the summer of 1992 when High and Olivia Crain and their children relocate to the house to refurbish it for sale and build their own in its stead. But they had to overstay their duration there for some unexpected repairs as they experience increasing paranormal activities causing them to flee.

The other part takes us 26 years later into the present where the Crain siblings and their estranged father reunite after tragedy strikes again as they are constrained to confront what the time in Hill House cost each of them.

There are two versions affirmed to each character in different timeline-like Michael Huisman and Paxton Singleton as Steven Crain – the eldest of the five siblings, Timothy Hutton and Henry Thomas as Hugh Crain -the father, etc. while most of these recurring faces have changed their course for the 2nd follow-up.

Actor Victoria Pedretti who played Eleanor Crain revealed in an interview “you’ll see many familiar faces in different roles in the revival ” namely ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor ‘.This takes after the novel  ‘Henry James’,1898 horror novella ‘The Turn of Screw ‘.

She added “It felt like there were things that were the same, but it mostly felt like making an entirely different show, to be in a different country and to be playing in different character and working with a lot of new people” as she is cast as Dani Clayton, an assigned nanny to two orphans in a sequestered mansion of 1987.

Henry Thomas is set to take up the role of Dani’s new employer, Henry Wigram who happens to be the orphans’ uncle in London. Many others like Cohan Luke plays Henry’s former valet linked to Bly Manor’s past while its shooting went down in Vancouver.
