How and Where to Watch Facebook Connect and Oculus big AR/VR Event

Published by

Facebook Connect Updates: Now comes the time for Facebook Connect seventh annual virtual and augmented reality conference. It is streaming online today. This was previously known as Oculus Connect. It is also heard that Facebook is on the verge of voicing a new Oculus Quest VR headset.

The company seems to have a long term AR headset ideas. It can be reflected from the fact that we can acknowledge new virtual reality games, extra Spark AR features, updates on Facebook’s Horizon. Facebook 7 is being held online just because of this ongoing pandemic which leaves no scope for any physical events.

A look at the event’s start time and how to Watch :

The event starts with a keynote at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, then goes on with developer and panels sessions. The event will get over at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET with a concert from Jaden Smith. This year the events stay limited to a single day due to pandemic.

For someone who has got an Oculus Quest VR headset, they can also view the event in “Venues”.

For others, it is being streamed on Facebook Live through the page for Facebook Reality Labs. It is the AR/VR section.

Facebook Connect: What all can be expected :

Today’s big AR/VR news shall be taken up for Connect keynotes featured appearances from including CEO Mark Zuckerberg and chief scientist Michael Abrash.

After this Facebook is surely offering a series of streams for the population interested in VR development. Beginning with a 12PM PT / 3 PM ET “supersession”, to clearly portray the state of Oculus development tools. After which it would be taken forward with specific heartwarming and interesting talks like increasing designing and accessibility live social VR knowledge.

We would also have with us Carmack, who had retired last year from Oculus to work for AI on Facebook. His name still appears in the list of CTO of Facebook Reality Labs. We can expect from him “unscripted” talks which would be more conventionally long and illuminating on the state of VR and Oculus development specifically. It is surely going to keep the viewer’s attention intact.

We are notified that Facebook is increasingly taking VR into its main offerings.  As well as it is requiring a Facebook account to log into future headsets. This clearly paves the way for disinformation and privacy or it may also get deep into the arena of technologies and games. Let’s see what follows next.
