Sherlock Season 5 Updates: Sherlock, a crime thriller television series is an adaption of the world-famous Sherlock Holmes detective stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The show released a total of 13 episodes over four seasons, and one of the episodes aired individually between the third and fourth season as a Victorian – Era Special episode. The intervals between the seasons are long, so the series stretches from 2010 to 2017. The show was produced by the British network, BBC, and can be streamed on Netflix too.

Sherlock Season 5: Plotline

As we see that the final episode of Sherlock: Season 4 was a perfect ending for the series as it showed a flashback of the case solved by Sherlock and Watson. Release Date and Cause Behind the Delays

The show is top-rated and fans become edgier about the release date of Sherlock: Season 5 but to their great disappointment, there has been no news about it. One of the main reasons behind the delay of the release is because of the prior commitments to the other projects by Benedict Cumberbatch, Steven Moffat and Martin Freeman as all of them are in the main cast.

The creator of the show, Mark Gatiss is also busy with some other prior projects. In addition to this, the situation with the coronavirus pandemic is also a reason causing a delay in the release of next season.
